Fontelo House. The headboard and the side tables were made from the old port wine barrels, therefore, when you enter the room, you still can sense the magic of the spices that only an old port has! Fast Track covers two learning Stages per year, whereas General covers one. Fast track runs for 23 weeks of the year and General for Please click here for our quick comparison table. It is a widely used guideline employed to describe the achievements of learners of foreign languages, and has six levels of proficiency, from A1 to C2. For more information please click here. The Language Centre needs to raise the rest of its running costs from course fees plus some premises rental income in the summer vacation. The course fees are set at four price points, in ascending price order, from the lowest prices for students, through staff, to related persons, and finally members of the general public. See financial support section to find out if you qualify for funding schemes available. Some of our previous course fees were at a very low level which was no longer sustainable in terms of meeting the costs of running the service.
We have benchmarked our new fees against other providers in Oxford and other university language centres. For the General and Academic courses students may apply for Priority funding if they can evidence the need to learn a language for their studies or work. See more information about both schemes here. The fee is student fee. We charge the same student fee for Matriculated, Visiting and Recognised students of Oxford University and its colleges.
This support will usually cover the full fee. To find out more about the Priority scheme please click here. Enrolments on our tailored courses are managed by individual departments and colleges — please liaise with them to find out how to enrol on an existing course. Our tutors are expert native speakers, and many have significant experience teaching on courses at the Language Centre.
All our language tutors work collaboratively towards a unified framework. We do sometimes get cancellations, and if a space in class becomes available we will email you to let you know. Alternatively you may be able to enrol on one of the intensive courses we offer in the 9th week, at the end of term. All language learners present different learner profiles and have different strengths — not everybody in your class will be at exactly the same level.
